About Founder
Born and raised in Tehran, Iran, Behin Forghanifar—the founder of Jabeh—is an architect and interior designer now based in New York City. Growing up in a family of artists and designers, she was immersed in the world of art, craft, and creativity from a young age. Her travels often led her to discover unique, authentic pieces by Iranian and neighboring regional artists, yet she found these works were often difficult to access globally. This realization inspired her to create Jabeh. Through Jabeh—meaning "box" in Farsi— and her interior design business, Behinteriors, Behin aims to celebrate and promote the rich values of global design. She is passionate about creating a platform that connects creators, décor enthusiasts, and the design-curious, allowing them to engage with and appreciate the culture, history, and craftsmanship of Middle Eastern art and design.
